As most of us are wishing for fall winds, others are looking forward to next year's sailing!! I know some of you on the island know Frank and also this site is read by mainlanders. Here is an update on Frank from Harrison Hot Springs, let's continue to thing positive thoughts as he recovers from this horrendous windsurfing incident:

"Update on Frank's Healing 09.12.05

Its been a week since my last update and in that time Frank has progressed steadily. He still is fighting off the MSRA virus he picked up in ICU and remains in a private isolated room. We are hoping that in the coming days he will be declared virus free and be able to receive visitors other than the family. (Frank must be sick to death of seeing us in the ugly yellow gowns and wearing surgical gloves for hours at a time)

During this last week Frank has progressed far enough that he has been able to sit in a wheelchair for a short period of time each day. He is dealing with quite a lot of pain that disturbs his nights and makes his days seem long. Even so he keeps a positive attitude and likes to think of himself as the luckiest unlucky guy in the hospital. The large wound on his leg (running nearly a meter from below his knee to upper hip) is healing nicely and the initial infection is now nearly gone. Franks short term memory is improving every day and he is slowly getting back to himself and processing all that has happened in the past four weeks. He has a long road ahead of him and is thankful for all the moral support he has received via cards and this blog.

Not much more to report for now.
Cheers"
Keep that chin up, buddy!! :)
