Pyro lite for windsurfing?

Anyone tried the Pyro Lite? Sounds like any drysuit isn't completely, so the breathable fabric I could do without. I could do with the extra $200 that this suit would save over the Pyro Pro.

Nice suit. Try the middle one, Pyro classic. Has the flex points built in for the knees and hips as well as better reinforcement. i'm not sure how it is priced compared to the light.

They would both be fine, the OR website outlines the differences really well.

Their web site is dysfunctional; it gives the price in US dollars for the Pyro Lite, but they have just restructured the Can price and it was way cheaper at Coastline than the web MSRP in US$ But you can't even compare because the Classic doesn't come up with the MSR price at all. The MSRP for the Pro is only $100 more than the Lite, but it was over $200 more at the store. Very confusing!

I'll have to try them anyway for fit, because according to their size chart going by height I'd fit an M or maybe an MT but using waist and weight I'll need a XL or and XXL. This is a problem with being pear-shaped !

?? Really? Do you have any more specific feedback, we are always trying to improve the site!

All our prices are in MSRP, and yes, typically you will see the prices 5-10% less in a store... Also, you are correct that in an effort to stem cross border price hopping we lowered our Canadian prices to match our US prices...

I'd be surprised if you could even find the Classic, we don't make or sell it any more. I have some really odd ball sizes left but that is it.

$200 difference...I am not sure where you were looking...sorry. The Lite is $499, the Pro $699.

:) - If you are truly a pear shaped rider we can certainly accomodate you! You have a couple options, the first would be for us to do a custom sized suit for you based on all your measurements. The second would be for you to consider the Pyro Surf suit, as it is much more accomodation of different shapes.

John- how much to replace a neck seal on a Pyro Classic? Because of the construction it cannot be retrofitted by a handyperson. Where could I drop it off? thx 8)

Well, I had a hard time finding the drysuits going through the main menu selections. If you start at the oceanrodeo.com root and you select 'Surf' as the initial choice 'cause there is a drysuit in that main option, there is some stuff about the surf suit there, but none of the others are listed or linked, and if you select 'drysuits' to the left, it takes you to a different page about the surf suit, still no links to the others. The others are there, but you have to find the 'kite' tab first, and then select 'gear' on the dropdown top menu, which looks identical to the listing on the 'surf' tab, and initially you think you already looked there. It was frustrating to find and I knew what I was looking for. Once you are on a specific page there isn't a button to return to the selections; you have to use the browser back button.

My mistake, Penguin's post about them threw me off, the middle one is now the Pro - and its the same price as the Surf? THere's a price now, but I didn't see one a couple of weeks ago, and looked several times for it.

Can't find it now, but I'd written down the pricing at the time. Maybe goofed it up, wouldn't be first or last...

As it happens I got a L in the Lite, and just let the legs be very wrinkled and baggy! And I'm extremely happy with the performance, so far it has transformed winter sailing for me.
