WOW! Nice job. I know how hard it is to get good footage, and then edit like that. Great riding, great music. The in-between sailing footage make the video very interesting. Is this just your hobby??

Thanks guys - glad you liked it.

Winddoc - you'll enjoy that 7D they are such great cameras for filming with. Get some cheap but great quality nikkor lenses - $100-$150 bucks off ebay, excellent quality. (less painful if you destroy them in the wilderness that way too...)

Pastadude - yeah its become a bit of a hobby, certainly the filming end of things, the editing can be a bit more of a chore but I'm getting to be a lot more proficient than I used to be, so it goes pretty quickly now.

BA - the gopros are great, we didn't use ours enough -
i was actually pretty short on actual kiting shots for the clip, we were too busy kiting when it was windy and I wasn't that interested in wearing it, i just wanted to get out there :)

Happy sailing.

Fun video to watch, congratulations. I was just in Hatteras so I thought you captured the flavour of the place. I found it much more entertaining than the norm as you put other elements in the video.

Got some amazing footage at tofino yesterday with my main cam, threw the sd card into my gopro and then proceeded to drop my gopro in the middle of cox bay. thats gopro #2... sad day, epic conditions though.

That was so awesome it shut down my phone at the very end.(For real it restarted my phone)
I loved that!
The footage was great, the way you put it together was great!
The filters you chose.
The stop motion!
The soundtrack... I want to know your tricks!
Great job!

Haha Thanks. Glad you liked it. Yeah I learned a lot on this one - what to do as well as what not to do...

Anyway filters: nothing unusual on camera, ND filters occasionally, CPL often, but not always. Most of the editing was done in post using after effects and then premiere.

Soundtrack... i can't even remember now. I think the song at the beginning was called the source?, the next was phoenix - listomania and the darker one I was timestretch by... someone - I think?

I actually almost prefer this one visually - shots from around vic and van and the island this past year.
