Hi Guys and gals,

martin is on the beach in LaVentana. There about 40 rigs already setup!
We have a great spot center campsite at the trees.
If you are coming down look for the Ocean Rodeo flag.
The winds are here, it blew El Norte' all night and it is 4.7 as I am writing this. I should be sailing!
The kiting has been good so far and it feels good being out in just a rash guard and board shorts.
Looking forward to seeing some of you later this season.

Is that the same tidy little camp spot that you had last year? It's all about location, location, location isn't it. How's the water temp?...I've heard that a few spots in the upper Sea of Cortez are in the high seventies...

I hope to see you in December and please keep an eagle eye out for a good beachfront spot for me between all those RVs!

I'd like to show you my favorite spot but I'll be in Victoria for at least another month. It's the M&M's with the primo beachfront campsite in Baja.

Hi everyone,
Just in LaPaz today doing the grocery shopping.
Kited the last 6 days in a row.
Marion has been using the new OR trainer and windsurfing.
The winds have been in the 6.5 sail range with some 5.7 days. Not the normal stronger winds yet, but wind everyday isn't all bad.
I have been using my OR 12m sometimes with my larger 158Litewave board. Tried an OR 16m 2004 for the first time yesterday....liked it a lot!

I am out in a 1mil rash guard and boardshorts so the water is very warm.

The LaVentana camground is up to 60 pesos per night(about $7cdn.)
The bottled water 20 liters is still 11 pesos.
We have a hose to our spot which is great.
The fresh fruit and veggie truck comes twice a week.
Pablo's across the street has the mini mart open as well as the restaurant and bar and two computers for the internet!
Pankcake breakfast is still 30 pesos.
Saw the peso to the dollar at 9.5 wow!
Life is good in La Ventana.

More sailors are arriving daily but there is still lots of room.

hey martin, is there any wireless connection done there? I'm leaving probably Monday morning the 15th. kites are ready picking them up tommorow, pizza and beer night tues cya. last chance for anything to bring down.Just waiting for Brad he's from Saltspring you know!

There may be a wireless connection available on the beach via Kevin.
Don't know the speed but expect it is rather slow.
I know John from John & Judy is getting his set up.
Also don't know how many he can handle as it is Baja!

Out on the OR 12m yesterday for 1.5 and then the 9m for 1.5. Great!
Nice 5.0 sailing for the windsurfers now!
Forget how many days in a row but it feels good.

Hi Martin,

I wonder if it's practical to fly down with a tent and kiting gear and set up in the campground for 2 weeks? Could make for a cheap holiday. When's the best time to catch El Norte's?

The local Ventana/El Sargento fishermen catch another one up near Santa Rosalia (and it's always so windy there, sure glad I don't sail at nearbye Punta Chivato anymore). This will be a match for Yoyo's Mako picture.

Yes it is easy to fly in for 2 weeks.

There are bathrooms (basic) and cold showers at the campsite.
It is 60 pesos per day and the exchange is about 9 pesos to the cdn.
My nephew is flying in for two weeks from Vancouver and his airfare is about $600cdn.

The wind is different every week just like home but in two weeks you should get some great kiting anytime between now and mid March.
the water is still very warm, shorty suits!
