I think that I'm getting soft, I had to wear gloves today. Sorry! Arrived early at 11am and waited for the wind for an hour with Snarfer, MtnarG and Sir Lancelot. It didn't look good until within about 5 mins the wind went from 5kts to 15kts. Everyone rushed to get out, MtnarG on his 8, Snarf on his 7, Lance on his 6 maybe? and me on a tiny 4.5m. My new Goya Airbolt from Dirty Mermaid is long enough and narrow enough to get enough board speed to be able to pump, pump, pump and BOOM, up on foil, especially easy with the smaller 4.5m sail which is very easy to pump. Took a few trips over towards Jemmy Jones and back where the waves and swell were very large with a confused sea state but better wind over that, more steady. The wind was pretty gusty and holey but enough to keep foiling if watching for the puffs to gybe. The 4.5m Sailworks flyer is so easy to pump, it's like pumping a kids sail so really not tiring at all. Some doods arrived a bit later as the wind was dying so that wasn't coolio at all. As I was packing up to leave there were 6-7 Doods waiting for the wind to come back and apparently it did so that is pretty coolio!! Anyways, great session after the wind came (all ways). It started fairly SE but as the session went on it clocked around to pretty much S and after that, died to nothing with a few of us still out. I managed to schlog in after floundering for a couple mins. I didn't quite get my 50kms in today, but better than a kick in the pants and although the weekend looks pretty wet, it looks like there will be enough wind to make it work. Sunday look like a Wing-day hopefully!!
