Snuck in a lunchtime session in super light winds and very flat water. Arrived to The Pope rigging up his 7.0m gigantor wing and only a 1080cm2 front foil which was pretty amazing. I rigged up a very fat 6.0m Sailworks Flyer and put on the 1700cm2. As we headed out, Poper was up on foil just past the channel marker, I followed in and got up in a gust right away inside the channel marker which doesn't usually happen. Lunch hour ultra light wind session with Bobson -- my first time launching from Cattle Point! I've been keen to test out a HA1080 front wing, so today seemed like the perfect light wind day to give it a try. Sweet Jesus it did not disappoint! It felt similar to the MA1475 in terms of lift, but it pumps up much easier. Similar to the HA880, it has such a nice and steady take off. So lucky to still be on my beginner 2000sqcm foil that works in bombo or lullsville conditions. Nice to have woohoo Bobson to share the swells with. Lots of flotsam to slalom around, but kelp is getting sparse. Danno and Greg joined in a bit later, but their smaller gear in the light winds made it a challenge. I felt the winds reducing and headed back to avoid the long slog back and timed it perfectly. Bright and warm weather in December with noonish bevys and banter with Danno! Priceless.

Arrived early, 8:45am to 10-15 outside and very little inside. Rigged a fat 6.0m and headed out without another wind-lover in sight. Headed out and it took until the outside of C-lover to get up on foil and then it was great for 40 mins until wind got lighter so came in to warm hands and see if it came back. H-Rock was hanging out in his van doing who-knows-what but he eventually came out and we decided to head out as there was still enough on the outside. Wow that was interesting. Went out on a 3m and DW board but just coming off the flue I was working to hard to get on foil so came back for the 4.2. Had a decent 45 min then came in for a break. Got back out then it started to rip. Wind turned side offshore and I have never been so overpowered on my 4.2m. Got to shore a little down wind but in one peace. That was enough for the day.

Arrived to the clearing front, sunny, warm and scads of wingers everywhere! Counted 25ish on water. It was beginning to fill back in after the pre-front lull, so rigged the 4.5m and went with the big foil. That lasted about 20 minutes then it really began to ramp up so went back and switched out to 3m and HPS930 foil (1180cm2). Arrived late and folks were coming in for bigger wings, so I went big too. That lasted about 10min when I was quickly OP'd. Switched to a 5m and that was a great choice for me for the early sesh. Sun, warm, stiff wind, and pefect woo-hoo vibes in the swells. Got kelped hard a couple of times by hidden veg. Took a quick break and got back out for a second sesh. After about 30min, gusts were getting to the high 30s, so I ended it. I was tiring and didnt want to spoil the day with a rip or owwie. Fun!

Overpowered only 1/2hr into the session, but keep it going, as days are too short for a re-rig. Stopped to dis-entangle a sharp beaked Murre from fishing line around it's wing, neck and foot as it tried to peck through my mitt. The tangle was so bad I started to wonder if it was possible to save it, but finally freed it in good condition. A dozen kites in the air once the tide went out and the sun showed up.

Arrived to a giant lull. The sun came out and the wind picked back up. Super fun swells on the outside, but was wondering where Tweezer went. Joined him down at lowers until a giant cloud whipped up the wind to the 30s. Got scared and headed back. Had a break, then a short session on the 580 until the wind died and then had a swim. Pretty fun considering there was an ebb current. Should have gone further East to chase the swell with Tweezer and RM. Tons of wings out (an infestation as Kus says). Ran the 880 and Dart for a change. Great set up for carving and speed. 1/2 deg shim.

Launched around 1030am with Ben, TnT, Bobson and GregCan. The wind was light at the beach, but looked better offshore so I rigged up the 5.5m, HA880, and first time on the Speed 180 stab! It took a bit to get used to but I did a solid hour on it without too many issues. Came in for a break and lollygagged with BWD, TnT, Bobson, GregCan, MtnarG, Ang and Coach Carl. First session back since accident just over a month ago. A little stiff but not complaining. Great day for it. Solid forgiving wind (until the end) and energized rollers. Came in for a 3m and noticed I failed to properly waterproof an open wound. Called myself lucky, wrapped it up.

Arrived to MattyP rigging up a 5.5m with TnT and Ben-DinglyDoo out on 6's foiling in a solid 13-15kts with Gustastic and GregCan rigging up. I went with a fat 4.5m and 1263cm2 front foil. It lasted 30 mins then lightened up to 10-15kts but kept the 4.5m working as rule #1 of foiling is "just don't come off the foil". Trekked to the north with Wingdoc. A bit early for the wind so started with the 5m. Stomach was growling but then I turned my head and it was not me. It was a crush of sea lions. Switched down to the 4m and would have reduced to the 3.5 but too chilled by then.

Happy to get a session at long beach.. wasn't sure the 12m would do well as it was only just picking up! Then it was too much....couple decent sets rolling in.. jumping over them to get to the cleaner waves but they were large.. xl.. turned back early on two.. almost got munched once or twice... double overhead were so steep and closed out .. too much messy shit. My second time here and the waves didn't disappoint although smallish they had nice flow. Do a couple turns on one wave glide over and another appears to continue riding downwind as far as you want with a couple pumps here and there. Although I knew the sealions were around they scared the crap out of me when they surfaced 20 ft in front of me I instantly freaked out and crashed not wanting to hit them got back on my board quickly and out of there. Road trip with Tweezer. Fun day with some Parawing and Winging in the mix. Tweezer out first with the grunting sea lion locals. Mellow conditions for the first hour. Some decent Parawing runs today with zero tangles and only one fall, so a win for me! Finally got the harness lines sorted for the P wing and it made a massive difference going upwind.
