I'll always remember the great times I had with Johnny. Camping in the early days at Nitinat, (met my wife there when camping with Johnny!), Sailing our hobbycat together in Caddy bay, the many trips to the Gorge. . . . He was always trying to get me kiting, our big joke was my nickname "kiteking ...

No problem using our Zodiac for the escort. Having said that, it is important everyone be prepared for self rescue. It is likely people will be pretty spread out by the end of the event.

Robin, sounds like an unfortunate incident all right. I have been going up to the lake since 1987 and have to say that I have had nothing but positive experiences with kiters, hikers, windsurfers, kayakers, sailors swimmers, mainlanders, locals etc. etc.
