A surface low continues moving inland, allowing winds and seas over the coastal waters to ease. That said, SCA there looks good to expire at 9 PM PDT. Westerly push down the Strait being born out via current obs, so headline there for this evening into late tonight looks on track. Southerlies in the Sound remain a concern, though have yet to materialize. Will continue to monitor, but will leave headline in place for now. Brief surface high pressure will build Wednesday into Thursday before another frontal system enters the area near the end of the week. Combined seas 9 to 11 feet through tonight before subsiding generally around to 5 to 7 feet by Wednesday, before gradually building back up to around 10 feet by the end of the week.     How long have the little popups with stats and links been on here?  Day count since your last session, or a link to your windiest session ever (apparently Dec 23, 2010 for me, interesting read), most used bit of kit and other random things!  Its a fun addition!

      Downwinding as in either SUP paddling up onto foil, and going DW or using a Parawing to get up onto foil and going DW with chute packed away then redeploying and doing laps back UW. This is all focused around chasing bumps going DW, not mowing the lawn/freeriding.

    “Thank you for sending your message to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

    As per the latest update, the technician responsible for the Ballenas station is on leave. Trying to work on a solution to charge the station if coast guard unable to do so. The estimated time to get station back online is by end of April.

    The Ballenas weather station has been defunct for almost four months and is key for nautical safety in our strait.  Can someone please repair?  I was told by DFO it belongs to coastguard. Coastguard tells me it's Environments.

      That’s fantastic Ray!!  I was just thinking how all 3 local cams have been lost as well as Ballenas WX, hopefully the latter will be fixed soon
