Arrived just as the wind started building. Pumped up my favourite wing and heard it hiss through the valve. Oh no. Thankfully Mr. NS let me use his 3m then his 4m. Second half I went to the 2.5 and big board and 880 with short mast. That was a tricky combo to get used to. Lots of kelp hits, but all that didn't really matter since the swell was A+.

Couldda been on the 94 to start with the 5.0, after an hour it dropped a bit so glad for the 110 again.
Decent ramps, some wavelet slashes, no boats!! Or flotsam, avoided a flying kiter descending on my head by bearing off hard but didn't quite make it thru the lines, taken down at the mast tip, almost managed to miss em, got wet which wasn't planned lol

Another amazing day at Ross bay. Timed it right , a little light on the 4M in the beginning but really ramped up to overpowered. Huge big lined up smoothies deep down in the bay with big holes in the wind, gusty, kelp bombs, made it all challenging but the waves were so perfect it made it worthwhile . Lots of highspeed crashes. Smiles and hoots all around kiters getting massive air up at the point.

Road trips and house projects are eating into foil time at RB so happy to get out. Started on the 4 and was well powered besides the amount of junk in the water. Swell faces cleaned up and got big so switched to the 3m and it was on. Did a nice top turn into a breaking foam ball that felt great.

I almost missed it. Sick people at home combined with work had be down on water end of evening. I was staring at the camera all afternoon missing the fun' Lol. Got out nonetheless and caught some sizeable swell. Lots of power out there at first and then, again, wind drop, the long swim in as wind died out entirely leaving six or so stranded way out. biggest problem today with seaweed. Felt weird to fly such a small kite, feel safer on the 18m since it is so much more floaty. Was fun though. Probably last time kiting at cook st for the next 4-5 years but Rufus in summer and Utah/Idaho snowkiting during winter might be a good trade off for a change.

Whiplash!
Much anticipated! With 34 kts at RaceRock on "Latest Reports" it had to flow down to Clover? I rigged big expecting a repeat from yesterday's swim. It came in strong and sustained well into the evening. OPd at times with the 4m/1000cm. Sporting a shorty wetsuit, I was quickly reminded that this wasn't Tropical Pipers. Many kelp/debris strikes with cold plunges for good measure.

Finally some wind to try the new DW Dragonfly. Managed OK when there was wind to balance. Managed to foil kneeling for quite a way and its great slogging, it goes twice as fast as the Takuma. Fell in lots but then I aways do. Some challenging waves - towards the point they were big and breaking and kinda confused, I didn't go way downwind but they looked fabulous down the bay. Great to have the wind return to RB after a week away! Got to the beach around 3pm as Danno and GregCan were switching out for smaller wigs. Rigged my 5.5m, launched and then realized I should have rigged my 4m. Switched to my 4m and also from my MA1475 to my MA1225. The wind built throughout my session and the conditions were challenging with bigger breaking swells and strong current off Clover. Things got very gusty and holey for the last hour. Great to see everybody out!

Too windy for my 5.0m Wing so jumped on the 4.5m Sailworks Flyer. Still over powered but manageable. Kid was stuck downwind so headed down to make sure she was okay. Her dad came and left to get a rescue but couldn't get one so he returned 30 mins later and towed his daughter to the fish hatchery. I headed back. Decided it was too windy so called it a day. And grabbed a fairly cold.corona.

Another hot and windy day, so awesome and unusual to have warm wind like this with the heat! Another daly of lessons/ board caddy service for the kids. Managed to score a couple sessions between lunch and pre dinner. Really amped up and windy from 5-7pm! Did some work on things I haven't done ever..toeside heineken, jumps(eek!), speed runs(eek eek!).

Poor turnout for wind at RB. It never really showed until 8pm. Lots of OGs waiting at the beach, but only Idefix, RDog, and I were delusional enough to give it a go. I think Danno got a few early flights and I got lucky with a few foiling runs. But, it was just way too much work for a lazy OG foiler like me. We all called it a day and Danno and I enjoyed bevys. RDog was the true warrior and went out again in the setting sun and finally got many sweet runs. Looking forward to Wednesday's winds.

Pretty great day. Almost 5 hours on the Wing. At least 80% of my jibes staying dry. 100 kms travelled today. Sunny, Windy and hott!! Riding out toes side on most jibes then touching down and switching feet but usually still planing. Lots and lots of peeps on the lake. ULR just killing it everywhere on the Wing. BigD and Me Winging together!! We're BACK BABY!! Very tired.

Launched with 8.2M and 120 liters at 11:45 on the downslope side of the mornings Entrance Isl 12kt NW 8am peak wind bell curve. Tide was ebbing till 2:30ish . Pleasantly slogged & chased the gusts at north end of park. Wind Fetch was from the South tip of Lasqueti (~350 Deg T bearing from Pipers) with gusts from the NNE between the fish huts & North tip of Pipers Park. Whitecaps and visuals showed this was the strongest Wind field likely due to compression and ebb tide back eddies cause ... (more)
