Lake visit and lucky with wind. Got an hour of decent foiling. Warm wind and water. No wetsuit. Almost sailed naked. Got one good wake ride. Boaters don't seem to like wake thieves. They frequently speed up - can't share the love? Guess that's why it's a wake thief.

Good long day. Out early with raw_dogg and regular Dog on the DW boards in the same wind as yesterday. Did a tour way upwind with a fun downwinder. Took a break, then the wind amped up around 1pm and was enough to get on the small board and foil with fun waves. Great apres session in the sun with lots of laughs, beers and pillow talk. Udders last day ever so we had to spend some time with him.

Wind took its time to come up this morning so went foiling on 10m - first time this week. Quickly overpowered so switched to twin tip but the wind never built to the 25ish of previous days. Still lots of fun. Final day at the lake - back to the grind.

Okay, I've got a real addiction to this tropical foiling! Another shorty day at Pipers! So warm that it was a relief to crash and get some cooling comfort. Started with 6m as it felt much like yesterday's light wind session. Lifting was easy and it was stronger than Friday. Same bigger swells in the morning that kinda scared me. Spent much of session1 in the bay doing powered carves and quick jibes that make me happy. But the wind kept amping up and soon I feared for my wing's stitching. I went in for a bee ... (more)

Arrived around 4:00 to buggy hot nimpkish conditions. Set up camp next to a pitchy tree but good shade and panoramic view. Camp was crowded and not friendly. Rigged a 4.7 for myself as Sharon was not ready to sail. Finally looked enough around 6:30 so headed out. Should have taken the super mini but the gusty conditions meant taking the 96 for insurance getting out. Completely lit once out. A few nice ramps but probably not as fun as Nitnat. Nice to sail in fresh water with a handful of wings and kites down ... (more)

Another evening session. Dropped a little earlier than the past few days. Ended up with my kite in the water unable to relaunch. Thankfully it was shallow and the waves weren't breaking onto the kite. A little sad for a last session in Oregon, but I had some fun while it lasted. Already excited for a potential return next summer!

Fun evening session with BWD and Rup Dogg resting after a full afternoon. Came in to change up to 5m from 4m and Rup Dogg then joined for some great riding in warm water and breeze. Finished the evening with us three going for dinner for expensive but tasty burgers! Great way to start a weekend! Thanks guys!

Late to the water but happy to be there. On going tuning trying to make a too big sail work on a 9'4 board. Finally got the hacksaw out to get the Sail tack a little closer to the deck. And managed to get in the straps. For me a 6.8 or 7.2 would be best for this site in summer.
Great to meet Juan & Loisa and Gus? and more folks to see BWD in the house! So I paid my dues and say thanks again for underpinning so many a sailors plans. Also great to hear about Udder's Ketch-ing plans and to see BW ... (more)

Fun day at Feather Beach. Unfortunately witnessed the last day of kiteboarding there, as the District of Squamish put up signs banning kiteboarding at the site. Wing and windsurfing Ok. Too bad to separate the wind sports and people into different areas, yet this beach has had a kiting fatality in its first season and is not well designed for kite sports due to its tall art and high rock jetties.
Nice to use the short fuse in Squamish, better for pumping.

Lured back to Pipers on a promising forecast. Good turnout again today but missing 5kts and a meter of swell to make it perfect. Adequately powered on 5.0/1000cm. Consistent at the point, light on the outside. I made the long reach to Five Finger Island, good swell there but I felt uneasy this far out in light winds. Lagoon Point was the safer option with some fun waves to play in.
Good summer vibe!

Today I was lucky. I tried to go upwind as fast as I could, played around just a bit, but then recognized that the wind was about to shut down for the night. Got in just in time' Fun time on the water.

Wow! Bring on the Beach Boys music! Sweet summer shorty wetsuit foiling. Warm air temp plus warm lagoon waters made for pleasant splash crashes. The 20kt winds never came, but there was lots to exploit with my 6m, thanks to guidance from Tugboat and GregCan. Got two good sessions in. Early sesh had some very turbulent, disjointed swell that was hard (for me) to flag out. Easy enough to carve while on wing and that was the best part of the day. Late sesh with Paul was pumpy, but fun!

First road trip in a while. I had to fight the steering wheel from taking me to RB. Sketchy driving through Nanaimo last night, thought I'd be stabbed, car jacked, murdered or worse. Great to see some old friends at Pipers. Fun session although not the big waves promised by idefix, but the waves did pick up on the inside for some fun rides. DW board saved the day. Hot wind today, felt gorge like. Hopefully more tomorrow.

Challenging early morning. I misread conditions or they simply kept changing. One moment, I'm flying, next moment, strong morning ebb combined with softening wind left me hanging in the gybes. What can I say? It was good when it was good and it sucked when it wasn't. Wind was less consistent than yesterday and just...less. I swam back to shore three times. Not a great for a sinker. Still had a lot of fun and water was warm. RB crew well represented again with Shags and BWD on downwinders. I am sure if I had ... (more)

Despite the late start, still had food winds until I decided to come in. Toe side riding is dialed in, starting to explore other things, goofing around.
