Wind came up late, but eventually filled in. I was a bit eager after yesterday's great session. Put on the big front wing while talking to someone and made the rookie mistake of not moving the mast. Had a good session but was fighting the mast position the whole time. Too lazy to go back to the beach and adjust the mast.

Great to see 8 or so people on the water during the best winds in the morning. Salute to DM, Udd, Gus eh all. And thanks to Scarlet for the visit, the porridge and time spent hunting for short mast parts.
Finally jury rigged 6m onto a 460cm mast due to Wed night 430cm breakage. Tack was over a ft off the deck complicating pumping between three dominant wind directions and strengths off lagoon, the wrap around park head and dominant NNW upwind of Hudson Rocks area.

Favourable forecast for both models, 17kts at Entrance Island on the early report. Good turnout, DavidM, Uddereef, Gusto, Tugboat, Cam, Vlad and a couple more wings lured in for classic Pipers conditions. Consistent 18kts for the first half fully powered on 5.0/1000cm. Orcas and sea lions greeted the lineup. Boat traffic and confused seas with the morning ebb flow. More wind for the afternoon session and much better swell lines with the flood tide. Ending the day on the 4m.

On the water by 9:30. Wind was quite WNW. Nicely powered and 2 nice long reaches out. 3rd long reach out and jibed for return and wind quickly dropped to 14 knts or less and had a very long slog ending way down to Stevenson Point...but happy to be back on land. Killed a bunch of time on the long wade back. The wind did come back on after the 10 o'clock lull finished and had clocked more NW.

Two sessions back-to-back over 3.5 hours. My first early morning shred at Piper's this year. I have come to love Piper's for good wind at dawn. It did not fail to deliver. Ebb tide made for some weird conditions when the wind dropped. Otherwise, the best session I have ever had here. Solid wind and good swell with some great local advice from Cam. Good to see at least to RB locals in the water this morning. A couple of familiar faces allowed me to feel more comfortable taking it way out. Had to eventually s ... (more)

Figured the best way to catch a reasonably powered session was in the evening as the wind dropped. Nice that we could get out near camp. It was fairly successful, but the wind became holey as it dropped which provided some interesting moments while staring at a wave with no power. Continually thankful for the smaller swell.

Not what we were expecting. Didn't bring small enough kites... Thankfully, the swell wasn't too big and there were only about 6-10 people spread across the entire beach. Not quite survival kiting, but certainly stressful at times. No idea on wind speed, but would've loved having my 7m. Still managed to have fun - great to get acquainted with some real waves.

Launched from Lagoon mouth sailing upwind to mid fishhut area & snapped my mast tacking 40 ft off the huts. Self rescue was easy due to location derigged the mess at the huts & paddled back to the Van. Glad I had some reef sandles on. Also tricky paddling my kit due to Uni joint sticking in my neck.
If your gonna breakdown thats a good place to do it.

Forecast was unsure about wind today but it cranked at the Hatchery all day. Got there at 11am and no parking spots left. Water was full of windsurfers finishing off dawn patrol. By noon wingers started to take over and the bulk of the windsurfers headed for lunch. After lunch the people on the water increased again. My first 20 mins was on the 3.5. Switched to 2m for the rest of the session. Swells were good but not glass factory good.

Close. NW was pumping offshore all day long and tried to come onshore during the afternoon, but felt like a heat bubble stopped it from happening. Alex and I both tried and some waves were had, but the wind was so light I was thankful the waves were as gentle as they were on the slack low of 1.6 m and spared us any serious consequences. Glad I tried, but wished the wind had kicked. Jesse arrived back home from the south Oregon Coast all smiles from living van life and scoring sessions at the Cape, Pisto ... (more)

A repeat of the day before but I had more fun. Super smooth and steep waves at the point with very light wind at times and only 3 of us. Turning the DW board a bit more but can't wait for a short board session. The wind increased later and more people showed. Hey Poper, I think it's whoever yells starboard first gets the right of way.

Quick session without a harness to try out the broken ribs. Not ideal but it was great to get out before the heat comes to kill the wind for a bit.
Super light wind -- could barely waterstart. Always a challenge to keep foiling. Seemed to fill in a bit more when I was heading home.

I could only get out for the late shift and lucky for me, the winds were likely the best of the day. Lots of gorgeous swells to ride and lots of wind to power me when I lost the swell. Fun to be out with GMan, Poper, Paul, and the many elite riders. Slaloming up through the swells was almost as fun as the downwind flagged out runs. I tried to follow The Pope, but he had unholy speed. Followed Gman and captured a nearly complete foiling jibe. No tracks - GPS failed. Wow, 100th session!

A bit of a mixed bag session. Started underpowered on my 5.5m and struggled to get on foil in the bigger waves off Clover. The wind then picked up and it became much more fun. Some good passes with Highrocker, Winddoc, and RuppDogg. BWD called "starboard" on me when he was actually on port so I flew my protest flag and now waiting to hear back from the race committee. Multiple drag races with Corked -- good fun!
