The daughters and their bfs were up for the weekend too, so started out with the wing lessons for them all. Got about 2 sessions in each then it ramped up big time and i called it time to go play myself! Swapped to the HPS930, then went out blasting. Waves started to really get good and are some of the biggest i've seen at the bottom of the lake (3-4') Incredible smoothie waves down near the river, so fun!

Wing attempt 2 for the year. Got out before it really ramped up. Was challenging in the lighter air to get foiling but it ramped up then became a bit too much with the swell building in size. Managed one gybe without bailing but I still touched down... baby steps. Packed it up before it really ramped up later in the aft.

Super windy session at Gordons with fog bank parked at Sheringham. Some angry gusts and very OP'ed on the 4.0m; barely keeping it down on the way out through the chop/swell, but some fun rides and turns on the way in.

The most fun day I have had yet the waves were so smooth and lined up. You could look down a smooth wave for 100 feet or more without any lumps and when that one ran out another was right beside it so fun with lots of turns. Big crew and smiles all around

One of the best RB sessions for me yet! Getting jumping on the new board dialled better. Some floaty ones! Great crew out and amazing swell. Tested my X4 360 cam out in the mellower stuff with the back mount. Shaggy shredding the outer wave trains and RBL sending some good jumps stood out. Oh, and Pepe throwing front flips...

Top notch session with great waves. 1/2 hour of awesomeness then wind backed off so slogged in. Back out on 1099 as it picked up then right back in for the ARTPro 1001 again as the wind was solid 25 knots. Killer rides on big swell with the amazing glide of the 1001. Best session on this foil yet. Just have to keep the speed up. Digging the harness. So easy and relaxing to pinch upwind overpowered heading out starboard tack. Witnessed many WDoc airs. Inspiring. One day.

Arrived for the late shift at 6pm and lucked out with some of the best winds of the day. I think the waves were the biggest I've ever seen them at RB in my short winging career. I spent most of the time in the shelter of Clover working on gybes. First session on my MA1225 and it was great. Apologies to some of the kiters that I got closer to in the big rollers off Clover -- I was kooking out quite a bit and hope I didn't throw anyone off course ;)

Went with some my trusted 730 foil today as it was another really big day and after yesterday I didn't want to mess around trying new gear. Wind was better for a while until gain it died. Felt the fear out there today as there were still massive sets pumping in and the wind was flukey. Really frustrating at times sitting there with no wind a the big sets rolled by. It did manage to catch a few bombs so it was all worth it. Wind died again and making it back in was sketchy once again. Slogged to the impact z ... (more)

A winger (Grant? Only caught a glimpse) nicely powered when I got there. Blew up the 5 and first reach was good. Wind immediately went fluke with big holes. Ended up way down the north ends. Frustrating to see strong wind just off the beach and it lifted and softened out where I was. Wind finally came in and had a few survival reaches making my way back up the beach. Near 40 knots at Race and gusty as hell off the ridge. 5.0 way too big. Stefan (?) rigging a 4 as I packed up. Good to be on the water again ... (more)

Sweet summer swells with a mid-summer vibe in the sets. Thanks to Idefix for lending me a PFD to enable this non-swimmer to hit the swells as aging caused me to forget my own. Lots of OGs and others in the sets and luckily, I only had one close encounter. Big swells to me and I got some long flagged runs. So nice to have lots of swell and wind power. Kelp was less evident, thankfully. 2nd session winds were a bit more fickle. OP'd on occasion with the 5m and then lulled as the winds took a break.

What an awesome day! Davey_K rocked up to the parking beside me, followed by CB and we were the only three initially at Clover as the wind kicked in. Got to try out my new foil, Slingshot Phantasm PTM 730 at only 656cm project area, its a skinny dude. It took me 3 attempts (bucking bronco style) to get up on foil as I really needed to generate enough speed compared to my other 1250cm foil. But once foiling it felt great, lots of glide and really smooth in the turns, carved nicely and feels locked-in at spee ... (more)

Back to the Bay! Fantastic day in sun with nice swell. Good to ride waves and have some company again. Went through the 5,4 and 3m wings. Lots of Kelp floating at the point but other than that the debris was pretty manageable. Some of my longest flagged out rides to date, almost the whole way down the bay on a few. I saw lots of others getting great rides too. Got my first tacks in some bigger swell and even one on the 3m wing. I really need to get a smaller board and foils, had them way past the limit toda ... Upside down day. I guess that is the way. Longest single period on a foil without dropping...20-30mins? It felt like forever. Consistent wind for first hour. Great day to link swells. Lots of others killing it too. Tough ending with a total wind drop and swim. That was my queue to appreciate what I received and head home for dinner.

OK, 90% foiling turns.....YA BABY!! Killing it on the jibes now. WooHOO!! Anyways....Up early for steak, eggs and hashbrowns for breaky. Then a 2nd breaky at TnT's campsite which is really my campsite (f-16) but him and his posse were keeping it warm. It was cloudy and no real outflow. Wind started early and so did I. 10:30am with one kite foiler out already I blew up the 6.2m Ensis and went with the big board and 1100cm2 front foil. Took a couple mins to get a puff and from then on for basically the next 2 ... (more)

An absolutely fabulous day on the water. Met j_dog and found some space to setup between the stunt kite guys. It was lulling as I launched and went down the ramp. There was a large chunk of a big octopus at the bottom of the ramp which I decided not to take as a bad omen and headed out onto the reef as it was full low tide. My first attempt to get going did not work as the wind was lulling and I was deep in the bay, I came ashore and walked up the beach a couple hundred meters, dragged out a ways, tried ... (more)

Used all the toys today. Arrived after lunch as the wind built. Foiled for about 30min and then switched to twin tip and a 10m. The clover lawn was crowded when I left. Hope the second shift is as good as the first.

In fast with a sudden stop. Good fun for an hour then the wind line shifted a mile out to sea. Graceful return. Joined Alain and ThePope in a synchronized swimming performance.

Back to the Nat! Predicted to be a good warmish, sunny, windy weekend. Got on the water about 2pm after setting up the camp. Easy peasy, was like being back with an old friend. Such a nice spot, love the friends, campfires, sailing...everything...ahhh to chill out at beautiful Nitty.

Tried out my new Razor Pro 775 today. Not a good day to try new gear! Some x large, very steep sets rolled through with around 8 waves per set. Denied my first 3 attempts to get off the beach. Walked up to Tiny's and finally made it out. The wind felt good and I ripped around getting used to the new foil. Scored a few nice wave rides and then the wind died. Long swim back and sketchy as trying to get in without getting destroyed. Sets were massive! Made it in without any carnage.

Humiliation and frustration for the first half of the hour I had available. I just didn't have the mindset and skill to close the gap between really weird conditions and my set-up. I'm just not rigged for low-level wind conditions. And yet, better riders than me were exemplifying that this was MY weakness....lol. Trying to launch on a sinker out on multiple conflicting swell directions in little to no wind was a good learning experience and I am grateful that I just continue to get more hours of pain behind ...
