Digging the new Ginxu!! Actually find it easier to start than my previous 72L by a fair margin. Wind was very NW and the swells were small but steep. Time to strap up the Ginxu now for some jumping. Tried Mike's Naish and Axis Spitfire combo. Very stable and comfortable to ride. Good vibes on the beach. Must have been because BWD was in a good mood for once and not glaring at everyone as per usual. Namaste David.

Another fantastic day in the bay!!! Swell was big and smoothy again. Had some fun downwingers with BigJohn, Tweezy, and Landon in the fray. An overwhelming sense of calm and serenity overcame me as I lit out on the water, i became one with the ebb and flow. Must have been some thing in the water. Chakra Khan

Super fun session. Crazy gusty and was on the 2.5 for a while. Good lines of swell wrapping around the point. I mostly stayed there where the waves were steep and the kelp was thicc. Felt great today and tried to spread my positive energy around. I think everyone appreciated that. Namaste.

Lit on the 3 then 4 at times and some good rides deep in the bay. Nice surprise session for me and fun in the sun. Getting better at patiently waiting for gusts to get up on the inside on the small board.

Similar to yesterday but more wind, fewer holes, and more northerly. First time using my 3m, which felt like a toy after the first hour on my 4m. I can't remember being able to point high enough on starboard tack to put me on a course straight into Clover, which was great because I stayed in the flat waters in its lee for pretty much the whole session and worked on gybes. With a short window and strong winds in the hood, I thought I would try one of Frasermc's local spots. I stopped at Shawnigan Wharf Park surprised to see wind caps and consistency. Rigged a 5m/1250cm on the grassy field. The north corner of the public beach offered easy access with a sandy bottom just outside the swim floats. I followed Sam to mid lake chasing shifty wind lines.
Fun tack practice in warm water.

Checked Willows first seeking out flat water but the wind was 18kts and directly offshore. Too hard for my skills. Checked RB and found it less turbulent than the webcam indicated. I figured 5m with my lower skill level, but WJunky coming back in to switch to 3m made me go with my 4m. Good choice! Occasionally OP'd by gusts and I preferred not to linger in the +25kt zone beyond the point. Great day sharing the swells with the OGs Poper, RobDS, Gregx2, GMan, and the elite RBFC riders.

Woke up to continued SE gale- but forecast was for it to die at noon - and it had already started to clock around to the SW - quickly rushed to the spit, but with the strong winds, and atypical direction, was going to be one of 2 things- either a fun ride in minimal waves, or get blown to Texada, and prove the adage of why women live longer than men!
Luckily was the former and had fun session.
Got greedy though as it died quickly and left me with a long drift in.

Mike and I scored the high tide dawn patrol session at 3rd Ave ... both of us on 5m+surfboard in SSE 30-35. Awesome waves outside for some amazing bottom turns. At times overpowered but great to end the session under sunny sky.
Pretty sweet to score two consecutive wave days this time of year.

Hadn't been out in a few weeks so felt a little rusty especially trying out my new front wing. The new foils are definitely feeling more refined, I like the speed and maneuverability, although it threw me off a few times, literally! One nice back flop still stings this morning. Looking forward to more sessions on this foil and can't wait to try out the Razor Pro 775 in some waves!

Up and down wind, chilly and weedy for the first half. Every time I switched to the smaller foil the wind dropped, argh. Then it finally steadied out with some beauty swell on the outside. The 880 has ridiculous glide and still turns well and feels way bigger than the 780 which is good. It will be perfect for the under 20kt days.

Got on it a little after 3, light on inside but looked good outside! Turned out to be windy and really nice big silver seas. The evil lurking kelp was particularly hard to spot until just the last moment, a few takedowns, over the bars, and sudden slowness. There were some epic big smooth rollers willing to take you all the way down to the corner if you dared. I did and 3 times went too deep into lull land but it was worth it! Lots of peeps on the pond. Repeat tomorrow please!

Epic Whistler weekend riding MTB with friends. Hopped on the ferry home and saw wind on the cam. Boogied back to grab gear for a quickie session on the Dfly before finally getting on my new Ginxu 62. Such a performance upgrade from the previous version. Longer, narrower, much much lighter (5lbs lighter!). Easy to start and gets going fast. Will throw straps on soon once foil placement is dialled. Kelp is baaaaaaaack. :(

The chats were waxing poetic over how good it was at RB, so I headed over there after a Willows session. Winds were variable and gusty, but there was some really nice swell at CLover level. I slowly got ready to go and may have taken a quick nap in the van, but soon joined the fray. I was going to follow the 4m crowd, but I saw a lot of slogging and the gusts were definitely variable. I went 5m and that was great for me in the nearshore, but much OP'd at CLover level. Fun swell and big gusts.

I joined Paulo, GregCan, G-Man, and Alain at Willows for some gusty goodness. Best winds were between MTI and the reef/Tea House. It was classic Willows gustiness with immediate lifts at the gusts and then a pump to stay up until you get to the next gust zone. Willows remains kelp free, so far. Tiring for a lazy pumper like me, but still fun in the sun regardless. Great to share the swells with the OGs.

Fun sesh, on it early(ish), much steadier wind than last time, full power on tap from start to finish.
A few fun turns with really nice smoothies in sections between the waves. Wind all day, Always sad to leave meat on the bone but needed to get right back into downtown for a meeting.

Got to RB late afternoon. Looks like people had already been out there for quite a few hours. Wind still looked good and tons of swell out past the point. some conflicting waves coming in from two angles, along with some nice clean rollers. Wind Became inconsistent and I was trying to chain puffs together. That was the indicator that it was time to leave. Short and sweet.
