Wind was quite shifty(seems to be the case at Pipers). And a little all over the place. Getting mashed trying kiteloops. Only 4ft deep or so. Could have kept going but I had to rush to class.

First day on the warm Maui water. Overheads breaking on the reef at kanaha. lots 'o schloggin and getting worked in the break but those first frontside rides are pure ecstacy. Almost shared a wave with Jeff S. Can't wait to give 'er again.

:D Big kite and Cabal SX51 skimboard. Skimboard goes upwind better than a normal board and can be ridden backwards like a TT or jibed. Once I got the feel for it its a lot of fun and has a smooth ride. If you can keep your kite in the air, you can plane on this board - great. :D

Rathtrevor is waist depth so far out will check it out on a real blow, should be great for learning new stuff.

Crazy lumpy chop out in mid channel but after that it was smooth and fast....WOW!! Loving the Formula 175 and the 9.0!! Too much fun-tastic sailing!....oh ya, kinda cold on the hands. NICE!!!! :D :D

Sweet. Even better than the big Oct '03 day. Nicely powered on the 4.0, although a little light at the end. Great rides, a few from the point down to the stop sign, had one with 7 bottom turns. It looked like Maui north - the spacing between the waves was huge. Note to self: if Sheringham > 30, good MM5 + good swell/period then head to JR.

caught last of SW wind, a couple of nice runs, then veered W and went super gusty. Near voodoo chop. 1st catapaults in a year - only injury a split in the 5.8. Cruising to suddenly nothing fall-to-windward, then realize almost smoke (25 kt+) on going to waterstart  . Come up verrrryyyy slow, feet way back! Sore arms from fighting the gusts. Garmin says 22 km sailed, max speed 39 km. Didn't land any jumps, too upwind and spun all of them on landing.

About 20-25 kts when I arrived. After 30 min picked up to 25-30. At one point a rain squal came through and it was 30-35. Wind was actually fairly steady, better than Sunday. Wind came in waves rather than punchy, nasty wind. Wind was contantly shifting from SE to ESE.(Entrance wind sensor makes no sense says : 16-19kts while I was out)

    It was awesome!

Most amazing thing I've ever seen while kiting: doing a big jump and coming down with the rain drops, mind blowing. Everything seems like it's in slow mot ... (more)

If I'd known I could get the day off I would've been there at 7:30. Got on the water before 9 am on the4.7 in gusty but mostly powered up conditions. Sailed for an hour before it started to drop then rigged the 5.6- only got about 15 min. on that as it petered out. Dave stayed out on his 11.5m kite for anotherhour or so.

Wind was quite Southerly so there was a large wind shadow on one side of the lagoon. Was blowing 20 and fairly steady when I arrived but quickly rose to 25 with gusts in the low 30s. Biggest jumps ever :)

Tried friends new 'Tactile' prototype. Wicked board! Rode better than my board in the gusty stuff.

Water had much more chop than I've seen there before, lots of whitecaps on the lagoon at times(normally butter). Insanity on the outside.

Never believe forecast for afternoon wind. Too late to Bazan, Bobson suckered me out for 2 hours of schlogging, pumped to plane a couple of times. Little puffs kept me hoping, but went to 0 at end. Tried Bobsons Fanatic 295 133 litre - nice light air board. Stopped by IV on way home, looked way better than Bazan, rerigged and went out - less wind than it looked, 7.5 barely planed up.

Well, been a while sailing at Columbia, holy parkinglot full! Pooled with Ruskie, fun drive with maserati-face but no accidents happily. :D

Wind kinda sucking but place fun, big fin and full sail, another bugonwindshield landing on a pseudo backloop. Lots of people playing hard, early sailors got 1/2m less better wind. :? Unfriendly sealion display of territoriality, holy teeth, Halloween's not over, scaaaary. Sail 5 Jump 4 Wave 6

A great day! 2 hrs in the morning on the Quatro. Tried about 6 backloops, but mostly lame attempts. Afternoon session on the FS. Tried lots of Vulcans but not even close. Getting the board around at least. Can't believe [b:c8bc0ff850]Winddoc[/b:c8bc0ff850] - I give him some pointers on landing backloops and he goes out and sticks one :D
