Afternoon sesh with Lil'b. After we remembered to put her fin on she did much better. Ripped all the way up past the spit. Thought maybe she was headed back to vancouver without me. Lovin the Kalama E3. Tried the 6.5 Slingshot V3 for a bit. Felt manageable and had a ton of grunt. Will have to try out the low end soon.

Again a late start' Wind was OK, got a little light, so I came in, but then it picked up again. I like the 9m kite, but it does like a strong wind. It reacts quickly, my down wind jibes from heel to toe are not that pretty.
At the end of the session, did a self rescue for training purpose. It is more difficult than I thought. Nick will confirm it on IKO.

It felt light but had the promise of building up so I went with my smaller 6m. Not a good sign to have Tuna and BigBadDave coming back in as I went out. I needed my hit of flight and got lucky with a gust at mid-bay and was able to ride it towards Trial Is. Made a couple of foiling jibes and then felt the winds reducing. So I headed back to avoid the swim. Disappointing.

The wind came in solidly but then faded away a bit. Still fun with steep chop and the occasional lull. A beginner kept dropping their wing right in the best wave section and that was certainly frustrating.

2 session day. More SW this time and cross onshore. Rode the 39L for the first time here and the SP840. Fun ripping around at higher speed and more maneuverability but took a minute to get used to the instability. Micro turns on wavelets have me pining for RB but great to be in warm water and have the kids playing on the beach.

I was handed the torch by CB and went out in very light wind for a solo session. I made the best of it for 30 minutes or so but had to come in when it lulled. I felt decently powered on my runs to Finlayson Point and back but gybes and tack turns were hard in the light wind. I do wish that I had got more than 30 minutes since there doesn't seem to be any wind for the upcoming weekend, but I am grateful nonetheless for the light wind I was offered and for my fantastic Series A 14.5 Flite which is so floaty ... Fabulous session on the new Goya Gurus. Just rigged the 4.5 and the 5.0. Took turns on both with three different boards. Had the most fun on the Super mini with the 4.5. Man these sails have range. Never really felt overpowered or underpowered on either. Looks like more of the same for today.

I noticed RDog carving on the RB webcam so I rushed on down. Felt chilly and lightly promising during set-up. The Twiz was going out just ahead of me. I was fortunate to catch an early gust and got out to about point level where the winds were stronger. Very marginal to start - i probably wouldn't have gone out so soon, but seeing neighbor Mike on the kite got the competition going - what i neglected to take into account, was he had a 10,000m2 kite ( well, technically 10m, but might as well have been).
After a slow start, rest of session was a chill ride.

Was on my way to CC to meet sister who's learning to foil and decided to take the 'back' route through Youbou on the off chance that Cowichan Lake might be happening. It's outstanding when it does but been difficult to know with certainty when it will. Was passing Little Shaw Camp near top of lake when I saw the right direction developing. With distinct swell lines on the RB cam and positive reports from the OGs I made a late run down the Malahat. Only caught the tail end of it but it was worth the trip. Warm winds and smoothies in the bay. Sailed into the evening till I couldn't see debris. I called it after too many strikes.
