First time trying the 3.5, took a bit to get comfortable with a tiny wing but good times once I figured it out. Made some flying footswitches today for the first time. Tonnea of traffic on thw water, head on a swivel.
Fun winging with Adam finally!

My crab! Travel day from Nitinat to Tofino. Light morning inflow and overcast sky had me feeling the draw for the coast even more so left about 11 am. Helped a father with four kids with two fat tires by leaving him my air compressor once he got his second spare patched. Happy to help (as I remember how comforting is was when other stopped to make sure I had what I needed when I shredded one of my tires)! The rumours are true! Gusty, with holes and shifts. More holes than filled in after 230. Struggled for an hour to get to the cliffs, then had good wind for an hour before I was stuck there in diminishing returns. Slogged back to the beach in horrible chop before it filled in again around 330. Not the session I hopped for. Can't win them all. Scratched my pristine foil on submerged rocks upon launching in low tide, which didn't help.

Wow just wow. Amazing waves lit on the 3m the whole time. Super long smooth swells half way out all afternoon and at head height at the bottom of the bay at the end. Some said it doesn't get any better at RB. Tried out Paul's Sab 940 set up, super fun probably going to pick one up. Ross Bay Pub for dinner with Tuna after, both of us kid free this week.

Great to be out after quite a few weeks. Nice to see wind in Pat Bay again..!
~15 mins OP on the 5m ~25 knots, then ~45 mins perfect with surprisingly decent waves from the WNW, just North enough to get some of that fetch towards Cow Bay. Fun S turns on port back into the bay and then long hitches up above the CG docks on Starboard and repeat.
Then ~20 mins slog as it died <15knots.
No complaints! Fun in the home bay. Hope everyone had a great time at RB. Miss seeing you all rip.

Pulling up to RB and seeing the large swell rolling into the bay was breathtaking. The on-foil experience also did not disappoint. +20kts and often op'd on the 4m, I often just went up to the point where the winds started to nuke and just jibe onto those rollers and ride them nearly all the way to the beach with only a couple of pulls on the wing. The swell was mostly smooth and forgiving and let a semi-novice like me to ride them downhill without trauma, except for my exhausted smile muscles! Getting very ... (more)

First nuker in many sessions. Big breaking swell with endless glides and leg burning turns. Should have been on 2.5 but no harness lines yet on that wing and 3.5 with harness lines was easy to crank upwind. Felt pretty dailed considering it's been a while since winging these conditions.

The hatchery comes to RB!! Super glad I wore my 5/4 suit as water was cold and lots of high impact crashes. Felt like I was pushing the limits on the MA1225 foil - so versatile to withstand the waist high waves and speeds! Everybody looked to be pushing themselves in the conditions lifting the stoke levels up!! Going to be some sore sailors walking around tomorrow. Fraser and I hit RBP for burgers and pints to debrief, have one convert, will work on getting more.

Intense RB! It took me a while to get used to the combo of 1225 front wing and 3m hand wing, neither of which I've used very much. I started getting the hang of it and ventured out into the bigger swells and got knocked down a few times. I'm finding I can get back up and foiling after wipeouts much easier and quicker than I used to -- in conditions like today it seemed essential. I stayed close to Clover while coming back in on port tack and circumnavigated the kelp beds several times. I seem to have u ... (more)

Wind Cranking. Swell Big. Ass properly kicked. New 850 scorchingly fast. First time over-powered on a 3m. Either I was shown my limits in session #2 or just not on my A game. Lots of fun. Lots of learning. Gusts by end of session were really hard to manage. Getting wind whipped in the eye with my wing leash while gunning it at full throttle was my signal to wrap it.

Fantastic afternoon session. Big swells, big wind and lots of stoke in the crowd.
Mostly perfect for the 3m with a few gusts beyond comfortable.

Light wind for most of the day. Caught most of the reliable wind early afternoon then it became pretty off and on. Pushed a hole through the 6.2 e_pace :'( fortunately had the 6.0 Gator. Did the trick! Arms sore from all the pumping. Lots of wingers and couple windfoilers. Back in August for camping!

A little wingding in the wild.
Although apparently i am a wind god - and not in a good way!
Blowing reasonably well sitting at anchor on the boat - UNTIL I get out on the foil, slog out of the bay, and she shuts down.
Oh well, a little foil is better than none, nevermind i dragged the bloody thing around for a month, i was not going home without flying it at least once!

3 was the right choice and the waves kept getting better. Didn't get caught in much kelp but couldn't really see it either. Best swell in a while for me and so satisfying to get some. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day.

Blasting. Early morning pressure squalls and light rain made it look like maybe the thermal wasn't going to happen, but it did! Late start but the peak of the wind was solid ' stronger than yesterday with some nice swell and ramps starting to push down near the cove in the windsurfing area. Started on demo free race gear ' Goya Bolt 107 and Mark X Freerace 6.2. Super fun set-up ' frighteningly fast and just keeps spoiling up if you have the nerve to keep the power on! A little unnerving a first ... (more)

Perfect conditions for testing Pauls axis spitfires 1180 and then 1030. Lots of fun making marginal conditions more fun lots of pump and glide and still turn pretty good. Time to sell some stuff and buy some new foils. Thanks again Paul.

On it too early! Wasted most of my energy balancing in light wind and chops for the first half. It picked up nicely late afternoon, much better for the second session with the evening crew. Fine swell lines in 20 kts. some 25 wings out with a few kites.
Good use of my windows : ))

One run on the ART1099 and came in for the ART Pro 1001. Been a few sessions since I'd been on the small glider. Few runs to get used to then super fun.
