Road upwind to the sawmill on the first session. Windy further up but didn't feel like it solo. Slightly lighter wind today. Not too much boat traffic in the inlet but a bulk carrier of some type passed through at the end of the day. Tried to spot the wake but obviously didn't want to get too close.

Fun light wind session on the 3.5. Got too light so switched to 5.0. Couple runs then made a fast jibe on a wave without checking my blind spot and hit a Robin. Sorry ULR. My bad. So relieved there were no injuries and no damage to ULR's kit. Only damage was a chunk out of the leading edge of my carbon mast from crossing swords. Luckily ULR is cheap and was only riding an aluminum mast.

Big surfboard (Knee Swacker, 5' 10") and 17m flight. Low tide and weeds made it a challenge. My first 1/2hr was ok, but struggled to stay up wind. Lost my board for a while after the kite crashed, wondered if I would see it again. All good after finding it floating upside down 10 mins later.
Less wind than hoped for. Earlier would have been better.

Got a chill shorty-suit session with Greg, Idefix, Poper, Paul and the elites. Occasionally OP'd on my big 6.2m Mantis, but rarely off foil. Got a couple of kelp takedowns, but not bad. Tried to follow the elites over to the Clover side but I chickened out and stayed on the bay side. Fun vibe in the sets and ashore. Enjoyed beers and dissertations by BWD on the greatness of DW boards. Came back in to change batteries just before the winds decreased and we were relegated to watching OmenGreg and Tuna play on ... Back to China Creek around 4 pm and it was very windy until sunset, and beyond. Overpowered the whole time, even on a 3 m. Would be nice to try a 2.2, 2.6 m in such conditions. Wave direction and size were different across and up/down the inlet from launching beach. I did not get very far upwind in the inlet. Going to try to rig up my harness line on the XPS. Like to use the built in webbing loops, but my spectra line works handle-to-handle.

Arrived to light wind and watched CB pump a big kite for his foil. I pumped my 14.5 Flite and expected to go out on the Tiki but as I got my wetsuit on, and all of my other accoutrements, the wind came up. I launched the big kite anyway just to see how it felt and it felt big, so I put it right back down (thanks Wade for the fast launch and land). I then pumped the 12m instead and that, and the Duke, was the secret sauce. I went off the windward side reef and with high tide and a very southerly wind I e ... (more)

Felt like too much sail and too wide a board for the amount of chop.
Lasted an hour and a bit then my harness line broke. Have to remember how to rig for too much wind and how to survive seriously choppy seas.
Hopefully I will get better at it tomorrow.

Swam out to the wind line at 145. Once on foil, stayed on foil as the wind slowly increased. Followed a ship berthing tug from far upwind and rode the wake to the dock! Good afternoon.

Strong conditions, near gale winds, then clouds moved in shutting off the wind. Cleared up again and the wind was back, again near gale force. It was OK, very gusty and up and down. Did OK with my jibs' it is time to go to my surf board.

Quick evening session, in light but nice wind. There was some unusually large swell with a lot of south in them, made for a different session than a "normal" bay day. Light wind and slow cross on swell had me working hard for rides. Still fun!

94/5.0 but it was stupid! Grabbed Jelly's 3.7 and her 78l quadrella, ripped around to bottom of the lake, a few jumps and smoothies at Rivermouth, top 5 windiest ever here!
Died, no sun. Oops wrong came back 2 hrs later with a vengeance.
Sail 8 wave 5 jump 5
Again 5.0/94 got stupid so 78/4.2 was the call!! 1 backie attempt, dinged myself on boom end during an OP monkey
Speaking of monkeys, foilers doing dumb things! Wow, no clue clew ha!

On a short leash so crammed in a session between work and kid pick up. Super light when I arrived so made the decision to foil with a 10m. 10min after getting out through the kelp forest it built to about 20kts. I came in, dropped off the foil and grabbed a twin tip and spent another 15min enjoying the warm wind and the wave faces. In and out in about an hour and home in time for dinner.

Things on the RB webcam looked a bit bleak but the forecast was good so I decided to head down. Arrived to BWD, Windjunky, Danno and Ang praying to the wind gods -- they clearly knew what they were doing because minutes later the wind filled in. I rigged my 5.5m and was off. Super fun session with relatively flat conditions for RB, perfect for foot switch and gybe practice. Lots of fun passes -- the stoke was high!

Stopped by at 1pm enroute China Crk expecting to Long Board but wind was fresh at the beach so went with 8.2 & Floatie Roberts 27". This unforecast breath of warm summer breeze was best between beach and the light rock and held till 4pm. Easy planing downwind to Stephenson point but it took 6 tacks to get back as the outside wind was only 12 gusting 15.
Socialized with patents of 5 time Nanaimo Bathtub Champion Nathan and then went out for happy hour sail at 5:30pm and met the Harbour Mas ... (more)

Late session, wind was still good, great fun on my 10m NEO SLS. I was lucky, when I got in at about 7:30pm or so, when I hit the beach, the wind stopped. The kite just fell out of the sky, luckily my sister was there to catch it.
Awesome session, improving my jibs and toe side riding. Ready for the surfboard.
