Windy early with a fogbank all day. Tried Wingdoc's board and foil and it didn't like my wing- bit it good and paddled home. Sailed the 2m the rest of the day. Tail chases were fun with ULR in the afternoon.

Finally got some proper wave sailing on this trip! Florence was as desolate and moonlike as ever with only Dana and few other wind folk out and then no one gulp! Had some fun turns but was wishing for my smaller board to really shred the gnar. Was mostly just turning and smacking. Hard to get too amped up with no one around. Maybe more tomorrow? Do I brave the sleep on the jetty?

Last day and the lake favoured me by coming up windy early so I could get back home mid-afternoon. Dave C and I scampered like kids to be the first on the water getting out there by 9:30 AM. The fog bank was still there and the tree shadows were still on the beach but it was white-capping way down the lake. Better position of foil and larger today (thanks for the input Shaggy). More confident standing up. Made it onto the foil a couple times, but not sustained flights. Happy to be able to turn around standing up.
Feeling pretty good about progression given it is really only day 3. Day one was spent on an inflatable SUP.
Need more time. Nice to see Windsurfish out trying it too.

On the freewave today which was brilliant until I hurt the nose with a stupid catapult. Factory fins felt great, less back footed than running as a single which I think only works with the double rear straps. Handles chop really well when I do my part.

Soul recharging weekend at Nitnat with the girls. Drove up Friday night and after a great breakfast for dinner, shared some drinks and stories with friends. On water around noon, not much wind lower at the beach, but when 18m kite was up, had to depower ~40%. Most of the session was 40%-70% depower, which mean it must have been in the 23-26 kts range. Chiken loop came undone at launch, thanks Mark for picking me up adding weight allowing me to put it back in harness. Very Lofty/Lifty day. Two sessions again today. Again starting early in lighter wind with the Tiki and a 10m. Spent most of my time close to the launch area doing countless tacks. Left foot forward tacks are more successful than right foot forward attempts. I then went on a two tack upwind hike to Knob point and then on the far side I went straight downwind and then came in for a rest and lunch. Nitinat day trip to see some campers. 3/4 of the wingers on the water from RBFC. Boys were camping more west closer to creek, was a nice change of scenery up there. Fun progression session trying a bunch of new tricks and falling lots in the warm water. High kite traffic, i swear some of them were following me around. Probably killed 2000 jelly fish. Missed first half on watch, caught the second 25k.

Wind was forecast to hold all day, but was typically variable with enough high power gusts to make it fun. Full Aloha style surf wear (and w/o a harness to boot) all day so I wad shore hugging and sailed into Hammond Bay south if the fish huts. Hand winger John from Sooke had fun and lasted all day till 4pm ish. And again 25 or so sailors came & went thru the day. I had a streamer , Nav light and lifejacket for Sunset session from 9:15 - 10:10. The wind went to 16 knots 20 minutes later.. grrrr ... (more)

I'm glad Greg got me moving for a morning session at PL. Felt like 5m winds but mine were busted so I went with 6m. Worked well enough for me with the occasional OP moments. Carved out to beyond Clark Rock and then made down wind runs. Swells were confused at the mouth but flag-able. Tried the 4m for my 2nd sesh and was surprisingly well powered. Lots of woo hoos with Gordo. Great day with the locals with lots of wings, fins, and even a kiter on the water.

Almost didn't go with the early morning dip in the wind graph but wind was back up by 9. Tried Sam's Omen Flux 48L. Struggled to get up. 5.0 probably would have helped. Another day of sun, winds and water. Rigged for 5.5 windsurfing, but a lull convinced me to windfoil. Good call. Perfect conditions for the gear, and felt comfortable enough to start tweaking sail/boom settings etc. a few minor crashes, and foil jibes not there yet. Finished off with the 5.0 wing for a bit, but need to work on wing mechanics on a sup first. Nice to see old friends and make a few new ones'

Got out at 11:30 with it already hitting 17 knots. Shredded the volar with a 5.7 and hopped on the 99 with the 5.0 once it started to really ramp up. Caught some unintentional serious air on the 99L lol. Kindofsortof landed it but bailed 4 secs later' let's get more of those, but land em >:D

Fun first day on the lake with two new boards. Pretty choppy and a little underpowered but feeling the skills return.
Max 2sec was 26kta for the freewave and 28kts for the Futura. Really surprised how close they are. Likely the Futura will come into its own with a fast 6.5-7m on flatter water.

Two sessions today. Started early in light wind with the Tiki and a 10m. For the first hour I was just cruising and trying some tacks. Then in the middle of the lake I switched boards with Dave C to let him have a go at the Tiki. I was on my new Duke as that is the board Dave was riding. Yellow/green forecast both Models with 24kts confirmed for Entrance Isl. Game on! Didn't have to sail far for waves. Wind veered tight to the bay and we got lines of fat waves off the point. Only a short window today, hard to drive away from all that cheese.
