Gusty and challenging conditions at RB today. Arrived at noon to a lull and no one on the water. I rigged my 5.5 and launched with Grant, also on his new-to-him 5.5 Unit! As soon as I got away from the beach there was plenty of wind, and the waves were good sized off of Clover. I feel like I'm able to get on foil a bit more efficiently now, but my pumping technique still has a long way to go. All the kelp forced me to practice S-turns non stop, so I tried to think of that as a good thing. I came in for a break after an hour, went back out but quickly realized I was way overpowered and the wind had become super gusty, so I switched to my 4m. At that point there were huge holes in between the gusts, the waves went away a bit, I got exhausted and called it a day.
*NOTE TO MODS*: Waterspeed tells me my max speed today was 13kt, but when I uploaded the .gpx file to BWD it shows speeds that are far higher than my skills would allow for! Let me know if I did something wrong -- I'm happy to delete this gps log and resume my position at the bottom of the leaderboard ;)
