Off work at 2pm and headed to Willows feeling hopeful, got updated by MtnarG and Danno so turned around and headed to IV. Arrived to 8-10kts but def. more upwind so rigged big and changed from the 1700cm2 down to the 1263cm2. Good Choice. It felt like it got up nearly as early but was easier to manage when the wind hit 15-20lts. I pulled the plug after only 30 mins as it was starting to get dark, no boats or other foilers around but lots of looky loo's in the parking lot in their vehicles so didn't want to break down and have someone call coast guard. Anyways, good session but with the strong tide against the wind the swell was building and was quite confused out in the middle. Pretty great 30 mins though. Glad to get a session in apres work even though it's getting dark earlier. oh ya, also unfortunately I hit a porpoise. I was foiling along upwind and saw in front of me probably 10-15 porpoises just below the surface and popping out, I tried to slow down and make noise but did hit one. It must have been just a nick as I didn't fall but did slow down and came off the foil. Felt shitty about it and yelled out SORRY!! I would have thought they were really good at listening but apparently I'm a Ninja-foiler.
