It was passed on by David M to Nanmoo for the multiple crownings expected in Oregon. Several mutts, me included, held the crown for some very dubious loop misadventures, planned and otherwise.
In the past week down at Pistol River where it was absolutely nuking, the Golden Helmet changed hands several times for feats of bravery, awe and inspiration. On July 2, 2013 the Golden Helmet was passed from Mark (who himself won it himself for attempting a no hands no footstrap loop??) to new aspiring wave sailor Heather who managed to get past the nasty shorebreak after getting beat up for a couple hours. Then it went on to Jen the Jennerator who was absolutely killed it at Cape Sebastian sailing every single wave like a rockstar and then onto Chris who himself was a sailing machine at the end of the trip going 3 hrs without a break. From there it appears to have made it's way to Morewind. Last seen July 6 at Pistol River.

thanks for the update Speedy! i hope it makes it back to the island so i can add a little more gold. it was starting to look a bit un-golden. maybe a quick disinfectant rinse too.
The helmutt is knocking about in my basement - it's looking a little weary and could use some TLC to bring it back to the glory days. I'll be on the lookout for some heroic moves at CB this winter.
hey mike i have a 1/2 can of gold if you want to drop it by my place sometime i'd be happy to golden it up for the upcoming Mid Island Loop Fest (MILF)
