BWD Oregon Coast Water, Wave and Windsports Camp 2016

Post by nanmoo »

AKA Holy Crap the Exchange Rate Sucks but the Sharks at the Cape will NOT Feed Themselves

Welcome to another year and another all-sport-inclusive wave camp. It'd be nice to see some new faces this year. We are a friendly bunch (mostly). Plus I hear there is room in the Law's new van for warm cuddles.

Tough go this year with the CAD dropping below 0.70 USD today. Nevertheless I am hoping to get down again this year but just dirtbag it that much harder to make ends meet. Probably targeting the last couple weeks in June. Then still hoping to get to PSC in the early fall.
Don't forget to bring a towel!

Now that a semi kiter has infiltrated the mix, I guess that means it's open season for danglers too eh?

For me, June doesn't work well. But I am really hoping to get back to Oregon sometime over the summer. I have a tuna fishing trip booked out of westport 2nd to last weekend in August....so probably makes most sense to try and connect that into a wind chasing trip too. Manzanita muey bueno.

[and for a nice thread hijack....for those who like fishing and like eating tuna, these trips can range from somewhere between quite fun and insanely awesome....pm me if you want details]

Still contemplating the wavebash and a few days before (contest runs the june 8th - 12th, so i'd probably go 4th - 12th), but I'm terrible at planning, lol. I've been saying I'll go for the last two years. But I will be there at some point :D

More then likely won't be able to do PSC in the fall

What's more dangerous the sharks, kiters or the sinking dollar? :?:

 I snorted a little bit reading the dirtbag part. Does that mean you're selling the pimped out Sprinter and slumming it in a Westy?😅

I hope to make it happen again this year!

By using the roof racks I will make room in the Vanburgini. Moo you are welcome to sleep in the bottom bunk.

The Vanburgini in June can smell similar to Winddude's sunroom.

Only way you are dirt bagging extra hard in that thing is if you carry extra bags of hard dirt. At least you can have a hot shower and turn on the diesel heater at night to keep your tootsies warm at night.

The surfagon now has a fully functional radio, new tires, so less of a risk of blowouts on the freeway in 40C. Added bonus the hot air blowing on feet in the summer may or may be fixed. Now that's pimping.

To truly dirtbag it the gear inside and on top need to be worth more then the vehicle.

hmmm, interesting criteria, never felt I was dirtbagging in my kuschine but that's been the case I guess for many years now
In that case I shall make a dirtbagging appearance hopefully in end May, end June and again in July 14- Aug 7.....if physically possible and perhaps....just maybe...without a starter/charging system melt down  No bottom bunk available but the top bunk might be
Wish less, sail more!!
