| Details | Bazan Bay was great for first hour of the session. Lots of South in the wind for first hour then wind turned more West for last 30 mins. I rigged the 6.0m as it was pretty steady 10-15kts then it picked up after 30 mins to 15-20kts so I foiled overpowered for another 30 mins then MF4 showed up so I came in and chatted and rigged the 4.5m Flyer. Went back out and it was pretty good but was getting super gusty and holey. Foiled way over towards Sidney Island trying to link the gusts together. It got gustier and flukier so called it a day and went out for coffee with my daughter. Bazan Bay seems good on SE or S or even a bit of SW but when it turned more West it kind of sucked. The 1100cm2 definitely has better lift but not quite as good glide as the 900cm2 does. I'm getting a 1500cm2 for those super light days and it will be interesting how much quicker it will lift than the 1100. Next time there is flat water and enough wind I'm going to put on a smaller foil, 800 or 550cm2 to see if I can keep up to Windoc. BOBSON OUT!! [from Session Log on Sunday February 25, 2024] |
