Day trip with Dave C and me riding shotgun in his new Taco (Tacoma). Arrived around 11 and hung around talking with Chris and checking out his new vehicle. Around 1PM, the wind started to come in. I think I was the 3rd person out and started my day on the 14.5. I rode it for about an hour only putting some de-power on near the end of the session. I came in and pumped up the 12m and only did a short rest period of about 30 minutes. I figured I should get out there quickly because the wind was not really building. I was out for another hour and was well powered on the 12m except for my tack turns, there wasn't a lot of support in the kite to hold my weight. I followed Dave C down to visit Chris in the windsurf area and then charged back upwind and continued to work on tack turns. I noticed the wind easing and decided to get back to the launch area. The wind decreased significantly and everyone was trying to get in. There was a seadoo and a student with their kite in the water plus two other kites in the water right in front of my landing area. I made a couple of short tacks back and forth hoping that they would be out of the way but with so little wind they were not being pulled downwind. I decided to head to the living room and land there. The wind got so light that I could not stay on the board any more so I dropped in and body dragged to shore. I managed to keep the kite in the air and to land it gently into the hands of a friendly lady. As I was wrapping my lines I looked out at the lake and saw that many kiters were not as fortunate as me. I think I counted about a dozen kites in the water. As I didn't have to drive I brought a couple beers with me and enjoyed them while catching up with some folks I haven't seen in a long time. Afterwards, Dave and I had an easy drive home with not too much traffic. We took turns playing music from our phones and having a great chat all the way home.
