Tried to make a go of it but wind was funky af and lulled as I started. A few other kiters were all doing the same and we got clustered around the boat ramp and one by one resigned to the grassy knoll. One kite got caught way out past Ross Bay and his kite went down. I believe his buddy called the CCG and I hope he got back ok. Out towards the Metchosin hills there were strong wind lines, rain squalls and large white caps which looked like they were on their way to Clover to murder us all. But those squalls never arrived and the wind continued to tease and ease. I got cold waiting around and decided to kite another day. After I put the gear away it did come up such that a bunch of kiters went out and seemed to be making a go of it. It is the end of the breezy summer thermals and the start of the gnarly fall frontal winds with the shorelines choked with seaweed and logs.
