http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ Handy way to create an avatar: 1. go to above site...2.click 'browse' & find photo etc. on your p.c...3. click 'custom' & choose 80 to have j-peg fitted to maximum size (80 pix) permitted on B.W.D...4. click 'resize' & picture is resized & saved for 2 hours on shrinkpictures site...5. right click on image & choose 'copy location'...6. go to your 'profile' on B.W.D. & right click in avatar location & choose 'paste'...So simple !!!

Does it allow cropping before saving at the desired size Jimmy? Often if you want to use an 'action shot' there is lots of stuff that doesn't need to go into the avatar. Sounds like a useful site for those without graphics software.

Or simpletons like myself...It will provide a scale..Ex: I chose '80' for 'Marvin' & it came out with '80' as the large side of a rectangle & therefore o.k. as a B.W.D. avatar. I just like it as a quick fit for those of us not willing to delve into our fancy photo programs...DANG...After 2 hours no more avatar. The above method is only good for sites that save your avatar (kiteforum.com for ex.) then use the URL of THAT site for B.W.D., not just the URL !!! Soooooooooo once you've created your new avatar save it on your hard drive.

I turned on the avatar uploading, so maybe give it a try. Hopefully it will work.

As for resizing and cropping I would recommend Picasa by Google. It's free: http://dl.google.com/picasa/picasa2-current.exe

Just Import, Crop, then resize using Export.
