Are stubbies the future
Are stubbies the future? Saw this article, http://www.boardseekermag.com/features/ ... HFh1d8k.97, it got me thinking a stubbie would be a good go to wave board for the typical vancouver island mush. Not that I can afford new gear atm.[/url]

Interesting that the Reactor has had incredible reviews in other mags for being radical on the wave and this test had it performing in an underwhelming way. From the other tests I've read, I'd love to have the Reactor in a 92 or bigger size for Columbia, out West, and Tofino. The JP sounds very fun as does the Fanatic, but they all seem to be very different. I've watched the Reactor vids and that board seems to do something special in the turns! It looks like a go-cart for the surf. The ultra short length does need more juice to plane and carry through lulls. I've owned a 217cm Naish Hybrid wave that was an interesting and radical concept but was maybe a tad short and unrefined. It looped like a mofo' though!
Hard to say if Stubbies are the future, but I love my 224 long Goya which feels stubby enough for my needs!

Poultry in motion
I like the looks of the jp the most, and just like stickers that means you can plane at least 5 knots earlier! Interesting they said it doesn't turn as well as the other, because it looks like it has more outline in the tail compared to the fanatic.
The starboard has that kind of old school 80s surfboard look with the fat nose.
Okay, maybe not the future of dtl wavesailing, but real world sailing like the majority of our winter days here? Where the most important part is looping like a mofo!!
